Ingredients:
4 sheets (400 g / 14 oz) fast frozen butter puff pastry dough
4 large apples (sliced)
4 table spoons natural honey
50 g / 1.8 oz raisins
50 g / 1.8 oz blueberries (frozen or fresh)
1 teaspoon icing sugar
Preparation time about 15 min.
Baking time about 40 min.
Preheat the oven to 180 C / 356 F.
Put a sheet of baking paper into baking tray. Lay the sheets of frozen dough and leave them to defrost at room temperature for approx 15 minutes. Cut every sheet of butter puff pastry dough into two parts (as a result you will have 8 square shaped smaller sheets).
Fold the edges of each dough sheet to make “boxes”. Add sliced apple (peel the apples if you want) and raisins to each dough “box”, and put honey on the top of apples ( ½ tablespoon for every “box”). I use natural Lithuanian honey which was collected in buckwheat field and forest. It is dark and has more expressive taste.
Add blueberries (at this time of year I use frozen wild blueberries) on the top. Bake for about 40 minutes. Sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.
Do not forget beautiful linen napkins to make this occasion special!
